Our course outlines are carefully designed to ensure your child has access to a broad and varied curriculum, suited to their needs. During the BGE, your child will be challenged through the study of a range of fiction and non-fiction texts - drama, prose, poetry and media. Your child will have the opportunity to create a variety of written texts – creative, personal, discursive and persuasive or they may write diaries or letters, reports or newspaper articles. Your child will participate in group discussion and will complete Solo Talks and presentations, developing their talking and listening skills.
Your child will have a Write First Time jotter which will travel from S1 to S3 with them, allowing them, and their teacher, to clearly see their progression. On every piece of work in this jotter, your child will receive feedback from their teacher detailing how they can make improvements next time. We also support your child in developing their ability to assess their own work, making them more confident and independent learners.
