iPads and Digital Literacy
Welcome to Digital Strategy Team Page. A team of staff across a range of subjects at Knightswood Secondary School has worked together to issue over 1200 iPads to our young people.
We hope that having access to this technology will support our young people, increase levels of engagement, and improve attainment and outcomes for all.
Increasing Digital Literacy is the responsibility of all staff at Knightswood Secondary School. The Strategy Team is responsible for:
- Supporting the training of staff to incorporate opportunities for digital learning to lessons
- Supporting the learning opportunities for young people to become digitally literate citizens
- Providing parents with the tools that they need to support their young people
Home User Agreement
All young people have agreed to and signed a Home User Agreement. This outlines the terms of acceptable use of iPads and is a partnership agreement between pupil, families, and schools. (click on link Icon at the top of this page).
Support
Each subject area has a Leader of Digital Learning who can support young people with subject specific enquiries. A list of staff and their contact email addresses can be found here.
Lunchtime drop-in sessions run on Wednesday’s in the library. Any young person can attend who may require support with any aspect of using their iPad.
A Digital Pupil Champion Group has been established. This consists of interested pupils from across all year groups. The aim is to set up a ‘Genius bar’ where pupils can support the wider KSS community with any issues or training required.
The Digital Strategy Team is creating brief ‘How to’ guides. We hope that these will support young people and families at home. These will be uploaded soon.
