Physics

The Physics course is an 'applications led' course, starting with what we see around us and then trying to find out in an experimental way how it all works.

The National 4 course and the national 4 course contain similar material. National 5 physics has more number work and is a more demanding course than National 4 but both courses will involve doing calculations. Pupils will need their own calculator.

The Higher course is more demanding again and only students that have been successful at National 5 level would be expected to start this course. It is a great preparation for many college and university courses and is essential for many engineering course at college or university.

There are three topics in each course,

For National 4 and 5

Electricity and Energy

Waves and Radiation

Dynamics and Space

For the Higher

Our Dynamic Universe

Particles and Waves

Electricity
