S5 – SQA Higher Dance

On successful completion of the National 5 Dance course, pupils are encouraged to progress to SQA Higher Grade Dance.
The Higher Grade Dance course comprises of Choreography, Contemporary Dance and Jazz Dance. The course is 75% practical performance and 25% theoretical.
Assessment is both internal and external. A moderation exercise of practical and theoretical work is carried out by SQA.

S6 – Advanced Higher Dance (Freestanding Units)
Pupils who have successfully gained SQA Higher Grade Dance have the opportunity to undertake Advanced Higher Dance (freestanding units).
